Jerry Marvin Brown, 74, of Pampa, peacefuly slipped from this life surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at his home. He made his debut to this life on August 2, 1944 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Marvin and Veda Brown.
Jerry proudly served the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Cobra Pilot and survived being shot down while protecting his troops. He married the love of his life, Jennie Payton, in Buffalo, Oklahoma on December 21, 1970. They enjoyed 47 years together while raising four children. In 1984, Jerry moved his family to Pampa from Sandnes, Norway. He retired from GPM as an Area Supervisor. Some of the things Jerry enjoyed in life were traveling with his family, working on antique furniture, watching baseball and Oklahoma Univerity football. A few of his hobbies included eating amazing food, listening to various genres of music and dancing, but nothing was more important to him than his family. Jerry's family will miss him dearly, but have an eternal hope and peace knowing that he is no longer in pain and dancing on the streets of gold with his Savior!
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anita Schickedanz.
Thos left behind to cherish a lifetime of memories are his wife Jennie Brown of the home; son, Matthew Brown and wife Christina of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Angela Phelan and husband Chris of Collierville, Tennessee, Jarie' Pritchard and husband Shane of Millington, Tennessee, Amanda Keel and husband Jason of Memphis, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Sheridan Phelan, Carter Phelan, Grayson Phelan, Bryn Pritchard, Aden Clark; a brother-in-law, Thaine Schickendanz of Fargo, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As an expression of sympathy, the family has asked that donations be made to Redeemer Church at 225 N Cuyler St, Pampa, Texas 79065 in honor of Jerry.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 4:00 pm, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Redeemer Church of Pampa with Pastor Jeremy Buck officiating. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
